Another Dubuque Tea Party Co-Founder Endorses Ron Paul

Michael Heeren joins Jeff Luecke in boosting Paul on eve of Dubuque Tea Party straw poll

ANKENY, Iowa – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul received the endorsement of a second Dubuque Tea Party co-founder on the eve of the grassroots organization’s first in-person-voting 2012 presidential straw poll.
Michael Heeren, a co-founder of the Dubuque Tea Party, commended Paul on his adherence to tea party values and endorsed him for the presidency.

“Ron Paul is a champion of the Constitution and has dedicated much of his life to restoring the United States by following the three core principles that we prescribe to in the Dubuque Tea Party.  Dr. Paul believes in fiscal responsibility, free markets and a Constitutionally-limited government.  Since 1976 in the U.S. House of Representatives, every single vote he has made, without exception, can be traced to these principles,” said Mr. Heeren.

“Ron Paul is the most consistent candidate and he can restore America to her greatness.  I endorse Ron Paul for President of the United States.,” said Mr. Heeren, who lives in Dubuque and also is a Dubuque County Republican Central Committee Member.

When asked whether he was wanted to make clear he was speaking as a private citizen and not as one associated with the Dubuque Tea Party, Mr. Heeren replied, “No, I just want America back on track.”

In addition, a Dubuque Tea Party organizer who already publicly supported Dr. Paul came forward to reiterate his pro-Paul stance, citing the 12-term Texas Congressman’s economic policies and integrity.  Jeff Luecke – who endorsed Dr. Paul on June 13, 2011 – felt it appropriate to reiterate his support on the eve of the Dubuque Tea Party straw poll.

“As an individual who helped organize and lead the Dubuque Tea Party I personally endorse Texas Congressman Ron Paul as the Republican nominee for President of the United States,” said Mr. Luecke of Oelwein.

“Ron Paul is the only candidate in the race who fully and consistently embraces the Tea Party movement’s three core principles of a return to Constitutionally-limited government, fiscal responsibility and free markets.  While other candidates conveniently talk about the Constitution, only Ron Paul lives it with every vote he casts in Congress.  Ron Paul understands and even predicted the monetary collapse coming our way.  He’s the only candidate willing to fix the problem rather than just pay lip service with cleverly-named gimmicks,” said Mr. Luecke.

Enrolled in the Republican Party, Mr. Luecke is one of the original co-organizers of the Dubuque Tea Party and currently serves as a precinct captain for the Ron Paul 2012 presidential campaign.  He is affirming his support for Dr. Paul from the standpoint of a private individual and not on behalf of the Dubuque Tea Party.

The Dubuque Tea Party was founded in April 2009 and today it has approximately 500 members.  The first in-person Dubuque Tea Party straw poll will be held the evening of Thursday, December 1st at The Symposium Room of the Dubuque Best Western Plus, located at 3100 Dodge Street, Dubuque, Iowa 52003.  The Dubuque Tea Party in conjunction with Freedom Jamboree conducted the Dubuque Tea Party 2012 Presidential Straw Poll from August 25th through September 17th, and Ron Paul won it decisively.  Full results are as follows.

Ron Paul – 42.9%
Rick Perry – 26.2%

Ron Paul Iowa Team Names New ‘Farmers for Ron Paul’ Nationwide Coalition Members

Supporters from Warren, Pocahontas and Jackson counties produce diverse crops, livestock
LAKE JACKSON, Texas – The Iowa component of the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign announced new members of its “Farmers for Ron Paul” nationwide coalition formed to energize voters in America’s unrivaled agricultural sector.
The new “Farmers for Ron Paul” members hail from Warren, Pocahontas and Jackson Counties.

“I support Ron Paul for many reasons, but as a small Iowa farmer, I support his stance that less government is what is needed and we need Washington out of our lives and business.  He strongly opposes the National Animal Identification System (NAIS), which is just big government trying to put yet another burden on the small farmer and perhaps putting us out of business.  In addition Ron Paul wants to eliminate the EPA and restructure the FDA, both of which limit what we can sell and how we go about selling it.  Farmers need Ron Paul as he is the real deal, and he will stand up for our rights,” said David Swaim of Milo.

Mr. Swaim and his wife have their farm for a year and a half.  It consists of 11 acres on which they produce poultry and hay.  Mr. Swaim is also a veteran from Iraq.

“Ron Paul is the only consistent candidate for president.  He’s is steadfast in his adherence to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.  His Congressional record of never voting to increase taxes and opposition to undeclared wars makes him the only appealing candidate to both the mainstream GOP and the middle of the road independents opposed to prolonged, undeclared wars.  Dr. Paul would push to end agricultural subsidies and government involvement in the free market of agricultural products,” said Dale Roewe of Laurens.

Mr. Owens owns a 1,100-acre farm that has been in his family since 1882.  The farm employs one person aside from Mr. Owens’s family, and produces corn and soybeans.

“Going back many, many administrations, government farm policies have done nothing more than de-populate rural America.  Recent food scares created by corporate sized processing facilities led to the signing of The Food Modernization and Safety Act, which came close to regulating all food grown for human consumption.  On June 9, 2011, Executive Order No. 13575 established The White House Rural Council, with a mission to ‘… coordinate and increase the effectiveness of Federal engagement with rural stakeholders, including agriculture organizations, small businesses, education and training institutions health-care providers, research and land grant institutions, law enforcement, State, local and tribal governments, and non-governmental organizations regarding the needs of rural America,’” said Jim Blitgen of Bellevue.

“This is way too much government where it does not belong.  I stand behind Ron Paul, as he is for less federal involvement that takes away states’ rights and more importantly my personal liberties. I do not want to be told what to do on my land,” said Mr. Blitgen, who has owned his farm since 1962.

Mr. Blitgen owns 90 acres and mostly produces alfalfa hay, but has an acre dedicated to growing vegetables including tomatoes, squash, onions, carrots, peppers, potatoes, whole oats and wheat.  He also has 4 horses.  Mr. Blitgen is also something of a local hero as last year he helped ameliorate the damage caused by frightened horses running amok at the 2010 annual Bellevue Parade.

Messrs. Swaim, Roewe and Blitgen now serve on the “Farmers for Ron Paul” national advisory board.  As a first basic step, those wanting to join the “Farmers for Ron Paul”coalition should visit www.RonPaul2012.com/Farmers.

Ron Paul – In position of strength in early voting

From Christian Science Monitor

Ron Paul’s strength in Iowa shows it’s too soon to write him off

Though he has a large and loyal following, Ron Paul’s positions on key issues sets him apart from many Republicans. But he keeps moving steadily toward a position of strength in the early voting – especially in Iowa.

“Consider these recent headlines:

“Ron Paul is for real in Iowa. Seriously.” (Washington Post)

“Niche Voters Giving Paul Momentum in Iowa Polls” (New York Times)

“Ron Paul’s 19 percent in Iowa may indicate a path to the nomination” (Daily Caller)

“GOP outsider Ron Paul gaining traction in Iowa” (Associated Press)

“Ron Paul And Libertarians Can’t Be Discounted” (Forbes)

Bloomberg News poll this past week shows a four-way scrum for the lead in Iowa, with Paul in second place. (Cain gets 20 percent, Paul 19 percent, Mitt Romney 18 percent, and Newt Gingrich17 percent among likely caucus goers.)

“A caucus state like Iowa is tailor-made to maximize the vote for a candidate like Ron Paul,”University of Virginia Center for Politics director Larry Sabato told The Daily Caller. “He has a dedicated band of supporters who will show up to vote in three feet of snow.”

Ron Paul Campaign Names New ‘Farmers for Ron Paul’ Nationwide Coalition Members

Nationally-known Virginia farmer and Iowa farmersupport Paul through a growing coalition

LAKE JACKSON, Texas The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign announced today new members its Farmers for Ron Paul nationwide coalition formed to energize voters in Americas unrivaled agricultural sector.

The new members include a nationally-known proponent of holistic farming methods, and a farmer from the key early voting state of Iowa.

I’ve been a fan of Ron Paul for years, since the first day I learned about his positions. He’s the only one with enough backbone to take on the entrenched corporate-government fraternity by attacking with the power of freedom, thereby unleashing entrepreneurial dreams on the marketplace. Currently cowering under the withering fire of guns, badges, and bureaucracy, America’s home-based and back-yard innovators have plenty of antidotes to the problems that plague our culture, said Joel F. Salatin, who raises livestock using chemical-free holistic methods and co-owns with his familyPolyface Farmin Swoope, Virginia.

Paul understands the power of bottom-up creativity. Reducing the military, both foreign and domestic, reducing regulatory power, and reducing the penetration of prejudicial government interests in the culture is the balanced approach to restore constitutional normalcy. Paul is the only national figure willing to go to the mat for these precious principles that will ensure tomorrow’s opportunities, said Mr. Salatin.

Mr. Salatin authored eight books, including the most recentFolks, This Aint Normal. He was featured in the film documentary Food, Inc. and most recently in TIME magazine on October 24, 2011. The New York Times dubbed Mr. Salatin “the high priest of the pasture” and he is often introduced as the “most famous farmer in America.”

Reflecting Dr. conceptontwikkeling . Pauls support in the first-in-nation voting state of Iowa, farmer Kevin Wolfswinkel of Sibley, Osceola County also joined the pro-Paul farmers coalition.

Ron Paul and I both agree that liberty and big government cannot co-exist for very long. Government dislikes the idea of independent minded individuals having free reign over their own lives. At the same time agriculture is one of the few remaining bastions of freedom loving entrepreneurs, and unless a new course is charted farmers risk losing everything they and their families have spent generations working for, said Mr. Wolfswinkel, who produces corn, soybeans and pork.

The hard work and personal sacrifice required to succeed in agriculture is at risk of being erased either by crippling regulation, the government’s financial mismanagement, or a combination of both. Ron Paul is the only presidential candidate who possesses the expertise, personal will, and integrity to begin us on the road to regaining control of our lives and livestock, added Mr. Wolfswinkel.

Messrs. Salatin and Wolfswinkel now serve on the Farmers for Ron Paul national advisory board. As a first basic step, those wanting to join the Farmers for Ron Paulcoalition should visitwww.RonPaul2012.com/Farmers.

Ron Paul Endorsed by Cedar Rapids Tea Party Founder

Tim Pugh praises Paul at a ‘Restore America Now’ town hall meeting held in East Central Iowa

ANKENY, Iowa - 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul was endorsed today by Cedar Rapids Tea Party founder Tim Pugh on the first day of the Congressman’s two-day visit to Iowa.

“Ron Paul has an unwavering stance in defense of the Constitution, a conviction to the cause of freedom and liberty, a firm belief in a balanced budget, and devotion to a strong free market economy and a sound monetary policy.  He believes in a strong national defense, and not as the policeman of the world,” said Mr. Pugh.

“Ron Paul is the father of the modern-day tea party movement.  As a small business owner, a true tea partier and conservative, and as the founder of the Cedar Rapids Tea Party I personally endorse Ron Paul for President of the United States,” said Mr. Pugh.

The endorsement occurred in East Central Iowa before a crowd of 400 supporters during a Cedar Rapids “Restore America Now” town hall meeting held at The Hotel at Kirkwood Center.

Prior to the Cedar Rapids event large crowds of 85 and 125 supporters greeted Dr. Paul in Benton and Jones Counties, respectively, for today’s two other town hall meetings.  Crowds of this size are uncharacteristic as Vinton and Anamosa, where the events occurred, are located in rural areas of the Hawkeye State.

Mr. Pugh said he made his endorsement as a private citizen and added that his views do not necessarily reflect those of the more than 900 Cedar Rapids Tea Party members.  He also has signed onto the national advisory board of the “Gun Owners for Ron Paul” nationwide coalition.

Dr. Paul’s Iowa schedule for tomorrow is as follows.  All times Central.
